So at work today we found two large boxes of personal effects, mostly pictures and cards, belonging to one of our residents. They had been put in the shed by an unknown idiot. The stuff is in pretty good shape, luckily. This particular lady has severe dementia, and is a Ward of the state, with no known family. There are sooo many pictures, and we are going to sort them and put them in a scrapbook for her, because we can’t stand to see them lost. It’s fascinating and sad. Her father’s Draft letter from WWI is in there, and some awesome postcards from the 1910’s and 20’s. The saddest thing was a small cardboard box that contained some baby clothes carefully wrapped in cellophane, along with two baby books, one with only a set of footprints in it, the other one empty. It’s depressing, man. But interesting. (Taken with picplz.)
